THE LATEST IN LEE & WOLFE NEWS:

WE'LL BE LIVE CHATTIN' ON THE NET THIS FRIDAY! See the "COMING UP" section, below...

"El Springo Breako!"

From March 27 to April 5, 1998, The University of Alabama is on Spring Break. The good news: no class and better traffic. The bad news: no live Lee & Wolfe on April 3rd. Boo hiss. However, Wolfe and I have been enjoying our spring break by working our asses off catching up with show stuff and getting lots of media attention (as much as we hate that, being so shy and all).

Some proud moments over spring break so far:

Lee - 1) recieved tape of Steve and Johnnie show on WGN where they interviewed us and our phone sounded like crap and I kept talking over them 'cause I couldn't hear them. 2) attempted to slit wrist due to item #1. 3) slept 'til 1pm, twice 4) ate sugar frosted Cheerios with chocolate Yoo-Hoo instead of milk. 5) cleaned the kitchen since Wolfe never would.

Wolfe - 1) See Lee's #1. 2) I got Friday off from my grave-digging job. This isn't that great, since there is no show this week. Oh, the injustice! 3) I passed my test for Kung Fu Novice. 4) The floor in my bedroom has been discovered by excavation crews. 5) Lee is a limey bastard. Might I remind everyone of the ratio between his share of the mess and mine? Somewhere in the neighborhood of 9:1, maybe more. He got what was his.

"Caryn and the Nationwide College Newswire"

As you may remember from last issue, a photographer by the name of Dana who works for the local campus newspaper, The Crimson White, was asked to contribute to a story regarding college radio to be sent out to college papers nationwide via the College Press Exchange. Apparently, as we so desperately wished, the article will feature yourses truly, since we had an extensive long distance one-hour conversation / interview with the author of the forthcoming article, Caryn Rousseau, which the University of Missouri School of Journalism will have to pay for. Caryn was a joy to speak to, and asked refreshingly intelligent questions, so we're excited about the upcoming article and national exposure. We shouldn't be surprised at Caryn's professionalism, since she worked at the Chicago Tribune for a few years and met our heroes Steve and Johnnie (same bldg.). The article will also feature the nation's smallest college radio station in Indiana, KCLU in Missouri, and the University of Wisconsin being unable to even get a radio staion due in part to complaining farmers. Weird.

Oh, and Caryn is single, is from Chicago, loves Broadway musicals, and has a website at [ http://www.missouri.edu/~c690689 ]

COMING UP ON THE SHOW:

No show this week. Next one: April 10th. Do you really think we plan that far ahead?

BUT... we will be live in some sense this Friday. At 5pm, since we'd normally be live in the studio, we will be in the WVUA internet chatroom just hoping and waiting that someone will join us. We'll be there for as much of our normal show time as possible (Fri night 5pm - 8pm CST; 2300 - 0200 GMT). Join us on the net for a live chat at [ http://wvua.chatroom.net ] and go to the "WVUA lounge." If you've never been to the chat system that we link to from our page, you'll have to sign in first, which amounts to picking a user name and password, but it's FREE, and you only have to do that once. "Y'all come!"

ON THE WEBSITE:

"Interns Galore"

The interns pointed out that they are far more attractive than we are, and that if anyone should have a page on the Lee & Wolfe website, they should. Therefore, there are now links for the staff of Lee & Wolfe. Intern Heather, Engineer Nick, and Largest Fan Patrick Douglas Crispen, can all be cyber-visited from the "personal" page on the site. [ http://v91.simplenet.com/leewolfe/personal.htm ] Intern Heather has pictures, reviews, and more; Nick has video game cheat codes (well, he IS an official techno-geek); Patrick even has a world famous cookie recipe which you MUST try. Intern Rachael promises a page soon, but a Wizard of Oz theme takes longer to do.

By the time you read this, there may even be a new archived show uploaded from February 20th. Check [ http://v91.simplenet.com/leewolfe/audio/theshow.htm ].

Updates will continue throughout the rest of spring break, so keep visiting!

THE STRANGEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE:

An ambigram is a word that looks the same upside-down as it does rightside-up. Like "MOW." But if you're really weird, you figure out how to draw ANY word so it reads the same upside-down. If you're really, really weird, you write a website that does it automatically. You will waste LOTS of time typing in words at [ http://Ambigram.Matic.Com/ambigram.htm ]. Type in the top right-hand corner and click "GO." Good luck. Also, Caryn (or uncapitalized "caryn," as she identifies herself) has qualified for the "strangest" this week with her page about meeting farm animals [ http://www.missouri.edu/~c690689/vacation.html ] Have I found you a spork page to look at? Oh, you bet your sweet gizzard I have... [ http://www.spork.org ]

CORRECTIONS

Last week, the subject heading for Lee & Wolfe E-mail Fun-o-Rama #3, read "Lee & Wolfe E-mail Fun-o-Rama #2." It should have read "Boo Inky Spank Glob Glob." We regret the error.

Thanks to you all for reading, listening, and writing...
