THE LATEST IN LEE & WOLFE NEWS:
If you’re new to the Fun-O-Rama, welcome! Remember, you can catch up with Lee & Wolfe news by reading back issues on the website [
http://v91.simplenet.com/leewolfe/fanzine.htm ]."We’re Still Alive"
So it’s been a few weeks since you last got a regular Lee & Wolfe E-Mail Fun-O-Rama. We appreciate the concern expressed by some listeners. We’re O.K. However, feel free to send donations.
After finals, a trip out of the country (which really made us love our great nation), and general brouhaha conditions, I, Lee, graduated from the University of Alabama Law School with a Juris Doctorate on May 16th, 1998. I now am officially a DJ with a JD. Intern Heather also graduated on that day from the University of Alabama with a degree in history, so she is already practicing asking if you’d like fries with that.
"Website in Jeopardy"
No, Alex Trebeck is not appearing on our website. The company that does our (V-91’s) web hosting, has decided to go back on its word to provide unlimited space and unlimited traffic for the original price. Because our site is now in their top 5% of resource users, they want $200 per month! Damn! Read all about it, including the letter they sent Roy (Nummy Muffin Cocoa Butter show) at [
http://v91.simplenet.com/leewolfe/meghogs.htm ] For now, be sure to write down, bookmark, and get a tattoo of [ http://law.fm.net ] since that address will point to wherever we move on the net, if we should have to. Don’t you just love capitalism on the net?"Are Y’all Ever Gonna Get a Job?"
Good question. After taking advantage of the kindness of fans by asking everyone to write to WRAX in Birmingham, and being severely and completely ignored by said station, we’ve pursued things more quietly, with positive results. WZYP in Huntsville has expressed an interest in our services, if you know what I mean, after hearing a bunch of our stuff and talking with us. We’ve had two auditions on that station and the last interview went fairly well. We’re waiting on a call. If we should work there, regular listeners may find it odd to hear us introduce songs by the Backstreet Boys, since it is a Top 40 station. Now, don’t make that face, you know we have to get a job somewhere. The web address is [
http://www.wzyp.net ]. Don’t laugh. We also plan to attack a new station startup in Birmingham that will compete with WRAX. Now THAT would be fun on a deep, personal level."Other News"
The Lee & Wolfe Live CD Volume 2, "This Time It’s Personal," is now available from us or from requests to the station. It features great live performances from the past semester of Lee & Wolfe to wow and amaze all your friends. We’ll brag more on the CD next newsletter. More news? O.k.... One of our neighbors got him a boat fer $500 an’ he’s goan fix it up an’ re-war it. Another neighbor bought my old computer from me, forcing me to sell at a reasonable price to avoid guilt. And... Lucy the weiner dog stayed with us last week, teaching us to bark and wag, as well as hock it up and eat it.
ON THE SHOW:
"Band-wise"
This Friday, May 29th, Michael Shelton and the Effect will make their way down Interstate 20/59 from Birmingham to play on the show around 7pm. They play great rock music with a smooth style and have the distinction of being the most complicated booking we’ve had, since Wolfe accidentally took his day planner in the shower with him and confused some band dates this semester. We think it will be worth the wait.
"Other-wise"
Just like this past Friday, the show on the 29th will have an extra super special bonus hour from 8 – 9pm. Any suggestions on what you’d like to hear during this time will be taken very, very seriously, analyzed, and acted upon. Very seriously.
ON THE WEBSITE:
"Only a Month Behind Now"
Shows from the month of April are now available at [
http://v91.simplenet.com/leewolfe/audio/theshow.htm ]. April 10th only has the second and third hours of the show ‘cause that crazy daylight savings time confused my VCR. April 24th was a show once again shortened by baseball."Lee’s Childhood Was Pretty Damn Pathetic"
There’s new comedy on the Fun Bits page to be heard with Real Audio and / or an .mp3 player. Lee’s Childhood Panama City Vacation and Lee Wolfworthy’s MTV Redneck can both be heard at [
http://v91.simplenet.com/leewolfe/comedy/audclips.htm ].
THE STRANGEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE:
Intern Heather was making efficient use of her time when she came across the Cable Tie Page. Oh, yeah, a spork page was bad, but the cable tie page at [
http://www.xx.net/cabletiefanpage/index.html ] takes it to another level. Write your own President Clinton Scandal story at this website: [ http://bobsfridge.com/storytron.html ]. And then there’s Jingle Berries... if you’re the creative Advertising/PR type, you absolutely HAVE TO go to [ http://www.kkcltd.com/jingle.html ] and show ‘em you can promote four eyebrows better than anyone. Very strange. Finally, if you’ve ever wanted to open fire on a certain purple dinosaur, then go to [ http://www.outofservice.com/barney ] and let the graphics applet load completely; point and click to fire. Thank me later.
Thanks again to all of you for reading, listening, and writing...
