THE LATEST IN LEE & WOLFE NEWS:
((This issue: quickie one regarding the Lee & Wolfe Alternative Homecoming - see below.))
If you're new to the Fun-O-Rama, welcome! Remember, you can catch up with Lee & Wolfe news by reading back issues on the website [

How's that for an acronym?? The 2nd "Lee & Wolfe New Rock 90.7 Alternative Homecoming" rock 'n' roll bash seems good to go at this point! Thank you for your responses from the last newsletter concerning this event. The event is scheduled to begin after the UA homecoming pep rally (approximately 7:45) on the front steps of Reese Phifer Hall across from the quad on the university campus. We have agreements for: Audio - from Alan's Discount Music in Birmingham for a good quality-rock-the-quad grade system; Lights - from David Jones of Tuscaloosa who does audio and lighting for the Bama Theater in Tuscaloosa among other things, for 4 "Intellabeams" which should wreak havoc on our mothership; Bands - 1) the Natives from Birmingham, 2) Stone Weasel and 3) Odile of Tuscaloosa, all Lee & Wolfe alumni. Members of Stone Weasel and Odile also plan the public debut of a new creature they've cooked up called Blip. I was told of video screens and men in drag. Bring a camera. We will also, for the third year, feature the Drumline of the University of Alabama's Million Dollar Band live on the front steps at 6:15 pm. Our show runs from 5 pm - 10 pm on October 9, 1998. The official schedule and all the details will be sent out via the next newsletter.
We still would like to get a few things to help...
Food. If you work for a local pizza, hot wing, burger, gator nugget, etc. type place, ask them if they'd like one heckuva promotional opportunity by way of donating some food to the band, crew, and crowd that night. This will raise morale. :-)
Video. If you video tape on a pro or semi-pro level, and have access to editing equipment, we'd appreciate any time and tape you could offer. We plan to convince the local cable company to air an edited version of the event later. It'll be a swell picture taking opportunity to say the least.
Circus acts. No, we don't NEED circus acts, but my neighbor Shaun has said that three rock bands, huge sound, lights, and a fireworks / bonfire combo across the street for the pep rally could only be rounded out by a fire breather, sword swallower, stilt walker, or balloon tying clown. Anyone out there game?
So to summarize, an advance thank you to Alan's, David Jones, Natives, Stone Weasel, Odile, all of our staff. Everything is on or around the front steps of Reese Phifer Hall on campus across from the quad on October 9, 1998. Lee & Wolfe begins at 5pm, the drumline at 6:15, 3 rock bands, a bonfire, and fireworks begins at about 7:45. Interviews and fun for all will be included. If you are not local (for instance the folks at "The Fish" radio station in Taupo, New Zealand aren't expected to make it into town), you can naturally catch it all on the web live at [
http://law.fm.net ]. Now there's even more reason to NOT spend money to see country artist Alan Jackson! Yee-haw!
ON THE SHOW:
"Band-wise"
BUT WAIT! Don't forget today's show!!! Today, Friday, October 2nd, we will be featuring a local band by the name of Chocolate Lowfat Milk. When a band does a song called "Fob James is in the KKK," they are destined to be on the show. Rock music, served up by musicians all born in the 80's. Cool. And apparently, ALL the band members have three nipples. At least that what we think.
"Other-wise"
Turn the radio up real loud this week during the first hour, and you may be able to win during another rousing edition of What's That Sound?(tm)! Win what? Hey, don't you worry, we'll figure that out before the show.
THE STRANGEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE:
When today's youth aren't forming rock bands, they may be designing entire philosophies around their love of truck-stop grade food. Visit BoB, The Dennys Goddess as she explains her theory on the creation of the almighty Dennys. And you thought Genesis was a good read! [

http://www.race.com/dansworld/GMS ] I learned that we all need clearly defined and regimented hairstyles so we don't embarrass ourselves. ;-)Fractals are strange. Very strange. Mathematical enigmas. Variables with fractional exponents. Kaleidescopic images with infinite detail. Or, if you prefer, thaiz purdy pikchurs! If you have the time, visit [

Thanks again to all of you for reading, listening, writing, and generally taking an interest in our twisted lives...
