THE LATEST IN LEE & WOLFE NEWS:

((This issue: Scheduling, teaching teachers, and a L&W trivia contest! - see below.))

If you're new to the Fun-O-Rama, welcome! Remember, you can catch up with Lee & Wolfe news by reading back issues on the website at [ http://v91.simplenet.com/leewolfe/fanzine.htm ].

"Is Number Four the Leather or Rubber Anniversary?"

"You guys are still on the air?" This heartfelt question is the one we hear most often when we remind folks that this Friday, April 30, 1999, marks our FOURTH anniversary! Actually, the 30th is the observed holiday, since we started on April 14, 1995. You DID get this Friday off of work right? Please try to control yourself during the show, and refrain from chanting "four more years." Tomorrow we plan to play back our favorite moments / bits / live performances / phone calls that weren't aired / other rare bits you haven't heard in years. In fact, we have a couple of little treasures that have never been aired on WVUA. The show is on as usual from 5 - 8 pm CDT (2200 - 0100 GMT, we think). If you're listening to the station, call, and if you're listening on the net, e-mail, and help us celebrate our Viagra-like staying power! [ http://v91.simplenet.com/leewolfe/audio/liveshow.htm ]

Here's your chance to win a Lee & Wolfe CD of your choice (either a comedy CD or a live music CD from volumes 1 - 5). Here are a few Lee & Wolfe trivia questions to test your dedication. You simply WON'T answer all 20. The person who answers the most wins (and frightens us):

1. How many newsgirls have there been to date (not counting Kip Tyner)?

2. What were their names?

3. How many Lee & Wolfe shows were done before they were suspended in 1995?

4. How many times has Jungle Boogie surprisingly been number one?

5. True / False: The Lee & Wolfe show has always been on Friday.

6. When is Wolfe historically more likely to masturbate: morning, mid-day, evening, or night?

7. What was the first Lee Wolfworthy category?

8. What was the music format of the only other station Wolfe worked at?

9. Which band has appeared the most times?

10. Which L&W band had a video on M2?

11. On November 10, 1995, what word was spoken 243 times during the 3 hour show?

12. Lee & Wolfe and Louie Linguini, now of 94.1 ZBQ, all did something together on the air several times. What the hell was it?

13. There have been exactly two (2) occasions of Lee & Wolfe themselves saying one of the seven deadlies. Who said which ones?

14. Whose birth was covered on the May 30, 1997 show?

15. Where does Lee's mother work?

16. How much was the cotton candy in the West Alabama State Unfair bit?

17. Lee & Wolfe did a live remote from the premiere of what movie?

18. Where did Li'l Elvis perform in Panama City?

19. In the Binary Club, what are you referring to if you want to do some "1000101."

20. Which band helped us pick the best cheesecake.

Good luck, and send us your snail mail address if you play along with our lame contest. ;-) Answers will be posted soon.

"Teaching Teachers to Be Good DJs"

Largest Fan Patrick has once again gotten into some weird stuff. Imagine this: we were allowed to travel to Macon, Georgia, to the Georgia Educational Technology Conference to do presentations for educators on computer audio / video, internet research, and, amusingly enough, porn blocking software. Yep, slacker DJs speaking to crowds of sometimes hundreds of folks, with a mostly straight face. We've been invited back next year, and this June we are set to appear at Alabama's technology conference. Patrick also has connections at NASA, so I suspect soon we will be astronauts.

ON THE SHOW:

"Band-wise"

There won't be live performances for the next two weeks, but tomorrow will, as a feature of Anniversary Four, contain many of our favorite live in-studio performances. After four years, we've had 138 band appearances, and very few of them sucked. I mean, sure, when they sucked, they suck hard core... but so far it's been one helluva showcase for independent, original bands in many formats, from several of our United States. We hope to expand this effort, and see if we can help break the cover band trend, and the corporate mindset that so many listeners and companies have. More free concerts like the Lee & Wolfe Homecoming concerts are planned, but we hope without police involvement. Stay tuned. If you have favorite live performances from the past four years, e-mail us, and we'll include them tomorrow.

"Other-wise"

Actually, "schedule-wise." April 30, 1999: Lee & Wolfe Anniversary Four; May 7, 1999: Lee & Wolfe Spring '99 Countdown; May 14, 1999: spiritual sabbatical. Depending on station manpower, we might kick back in during UA's interim the following week, but no later than May 28.

THE STRANGEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE:

I'm scared of clowns. As a kid, there was no way I could be left alone with a clown, real or not. Creepy little bastards. And when Intern Heather found the following page, I knew what place I had to destroy. [

http://www.mooseburger.com/afternoo.htm ].

Humans have really advanced. Man, our technology is amazing. Boy, we as a species have truly ACHIEVED. Virtual bubble wrap... [ http://fathom.org/opalcat/virtualbw.html ] Can't wait for aliens to invade.

Thank GOD someone finally shook up the tired old Magic 8-ball paradigm. Behold the Magic 8 Nipple at [ http://www.thirdnipple.com/8nipple ].

And finally, Star Wars is of the Devil, as Wolfe recently discovered. Brother Jim would be proud. Find out how we will all soon be sucked in to the dark side by reading The Force = Satan Homepage. Franklin Graham will be in Tuscaloosa this weekend, I think I'll ask him about this. [ http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/lot/9202 ] "The Force makes people behave like Demons. Luke is 'taught' by the grimy, wizened, midget stand-in for God, YODA to make things fly in the air with TELEKENISIS. That's what Demons do!"

Thanks again to all of you for reading, listening, writing, and keepin' it real in da nine-nine y'all...
