Clothing for the round and tacky
A kind, but clearly unusual, listener honored us with the status of local clothing cartoons. For those of you not from Tuscaloosa, Crackeroos are worn by fat, tacky moms who like to look like over-ripe fruit. And now their kids can match AND be like Lee and Wolfe.
The 'In the Closet' Era
Some years ago, The public radio station, WUAL (classical music and pleasant, soothing news), who share the same building with us, decided they wanted to be where we were downstairs. There was no pressing need for this, but they get whatever they want, and in January 2000, our station was moved literally to a closet in another part of the building while they made the move. It was hot and tiny and miserable, but the show must go on. Who cares if the NPR station stole our big, professional studio? We'll just put the band performances in the hallway next to the classrooms and offices. Here is the only known picture of a band in the hall: The Come-Ons, October 6, 2000. We were there for a YEAR. Since this time, we've been moved to WUAL's old studio, where things are better and worse, but at least we're no longer embarassed to take pictures.
SO original.
At one point in American history, everyone had their own version of the Calvin Klein logo. Here's ours. It can be seen on t-shirts in pictures from a past Homecoming parade.

Enjoy & share, but profit from it (including on-air use) and we'll make you live in a hot, smelly, uncomfortable closet for a year...
