Every year the Media Planning Board at the University of Alabama throws a fancy shindig where the various student media on campus pat themselves on the back for another mediocre year of students doing the same ol' thing. The newspaper (Crimson White), a literary journal (Marr's Field Journal), the radio station (WVUA - our home station!), maybe the TV stuff and other thingamabobs. Hard to say for sure what all is happening since the entire radio station staff arrives to drink and act up. The other student media are not having NEARLY as much fun as we are. Everyone gets some equivalent of a "gold star" award or an "attendance" award or "most improved over the last person who was arguably not so improved" award, except of course Lee & Wolfe. Fancy food is eaten, people are dressed nice, and merriment is had. Enjoy these rare "church clothes" pictures of DJs, presented in almost alphabetical order...

	Intern Amber and hubby Jason are a disturbingly pleasant and cute young couple.
	Here, Intern Amber has tears rolling from laughing so hard at some shenanigans that culminated in Intern Bruce catapulting a packet of half-'n'-half with a spoon into a small container of dressing or some such sticky fluid. You know how things are even funnier when you're not supposed to be laughing and acting up? It was like that.
	Here's the creamy goo inadvertantly targeted by Bruce.
	Amber brings home the "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty" award for 2002, clearing the way for former President Carter to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

	Wolfe really enjoyed his date with Bruce that night, and to increase enjoyment and excitement, he did not tell his then wife.

	Either I bit into something very sour, or I'm forming my royal "we are not amused" face. Either way I looked awful. *sigh* Heather and I had been gardening earlier that day in the hot sun.
	Newsgirl Lindsey's outfit that night had nothing to do with Betty Boop, but apparently it got her in that mood.
	Lindsey was very excited about the chocolate cake, as you can see, and skillfully bartered a slice of pecan pie for it.
	Lindsey danced a little boogie-woogie jig sorta thing upon receiving the coveted "Outstanding Service and Dedication" award.
	Bad Ass Mike, whose shift is just after ours on WVUA, managed to create a "minor stir" upon arriving at the banquet with his companion.
	At the sign in table, Demetri, for a short time, pondered swiping the name tag of a female guest who had not yet arrived, and spending the entire evening speaking with a high-pitched voice.

	Voice Guy Bernie visited in 2000, and couldn't believe how much fun it was listening to all the acceptance speeches.
	There's nothing better when accepting induction into the WVUA "Hall of Fame" than a good ol' awkward man-hug with the station manager in front of everyone.
