GETTING THE SHOW:

The show is free, and can be had via mp3 downloads from the Internet, or via CD until you have proper download capabilities. We highly recommend downloading the show, as this allows you to get it much faster, and to have your contributions be incorporated much faster. This is especially true for stations far away. Did you know it’s now officially the future?

In a nutshell: Go to this week's schedule page to download, get the mp3's in stereo or mono depending on how you broadcast. Downloads should go as fast as your connection allows. We can put 'em up and pull 'em down at up to 2Mbps, so downloading them on most campuses should be a breeze. Then, play the show.

PLAYING THE SHOW:

HOW you play the show depends on the equipment you have. Many stations have computers in the studio with web access. If so, hooray, it's obvious what to do. No computer in the studio? Download, burn to CD, or even re-usable CD-RW if your CD players are compatible, and play away. You could even download the mono version if your bandwidth is limited, and copy to a minidisc. Basically, where there's a will, there's a way. Call us or e-mail us at syndicated@leeandwolfe.com if the process looks like it might be difficult for you, and we'll help you figure a way to play it that doesn't take a lot of resources or time. If you can download it, there's almost always a simple way to get it played.

Remember the show is timed to fill 56 minutes per hour, so be sure to fill 4 minutes with local content like weather, underwriting announcements, etc.

and / or filler that we can provide like PSA's so the show times out correctly

SENDING US STUFF:

How to send:

You can send us stuff via darn near any audio format (CD, MD, cassette, DAT, VHS, whatever) to Lee & Wolfe, P.O. Box 71750, Tuscaloosa, AL 35407. If using cassette, use the highest quality you can (metal bias) and be careful with the levels. Or, upload audio to some place we can get it as a high-bitrate mp3, or even an uncompressed wav. It will more likely be used if sound quality has been maintained. We would MUCH prefer a digital format, but we know that ain't always easy. For mp3s, use the "hq" (highest-quality) option when encoding, since this preserves high frequencies better. Then just send us a link to it at syndication@leeandwolfe.com. Feel free to e-mail us with specific questions on any of this.

What to send:

Inclusion of material is the sole discretion of the producers of the show, except that each affiliate station is guaranteed a "Station Spotlight" segment at least once. The station spotlight is up to three minutes of audio intended to showcase all that is cool about your station. Contact us for details. We will be happy to feature audio of virtually anything you do on air (or maybe off-air too). Send us clips / airchecks of comedy, interviews, news, sports, poetry, live music, bizarre sounds your body made.... ANYTHING!

WHAT'S IN THE DOWNLOAD:

You get two hours worth of show, with four minutes of time per hour for you to fill if you wish with your own local underwriting / commercials, or maybe weather, local events information, etc. If you have nothing, or very little, to fill the four minutes per hour, we can also provide PSA’s, interstitials, and other simple goodies to fill with, in case you just want the show to run unattended. There are five parts total (2 parts fill hour one, 3 parts fill hour two) so that there are four stop sets inside the show. The tracks containing what you must play are labeled thusly, with the date it was performed live. i.e.:

20020419_03_mono.mp3

20020426_01_stereo.mp3

We will also gladly create station-specific promos, drops, etc. for your station. Just ask!

Tech note: The mp3's of the show are encoded at 44.1kHz sample rate, stereo, with 112kbps bitrate and the High Quality encode option on. Why 112 and not 128 or higher? We had to make a compromise between sound quality and storage space. At that bitrate, the sound quality is still quite good, and the entire two hour show fits on one 100MB Zip disk, which could come in handy, and it makes it quicker to download.

Rules for participation:

  1. You must occasionally e-mail us confirmation of play times (or snail-mail or fax if you like).
  2. You must play the show in its entirety. That is, the entire contents of the tracks making up the show on the CD, or the files in mp3 format.
